I paid for the Guide but never got an email with my Activation Key

The explanation could be the same as above or it is possible that your spam filter blocked the email. Just
contact us and we will send you your activation key.

When I try to activate the Guide, after a delay I get a message that 'Secure-eBook is not able to communicate with the Secure-eBook server'

There are several possible reasons for this:

You are not connected to the Internet. You need to be connected to the Internet to activate, deactivate or upgrade your Guide.

You have an aggressive firewall that is interfering with the activation process. The standard Windows firewall and those like McAfee will not cause problems, but some of the more aggressive firewalls, particularly those found in corporate networks, can make it difficult or impossible to activate or even read the Guide. Try turning off the firewall while you are activating. Remember that in a business environment the firewall may be separate from your computer and only accessible to your network administrator. Try installing the Guide at home where your computer is probably connected directly to the Internet. A normal home network or router should not cause problems.

You are not logged on to your computer as a user that has the privilege to install software. To install software your user name needs to be part of the Administration Group. To check this, go to Start/Control Panel/User Accounts and check that Computer Administrator is displayed next to your name.

I try and open the PREP4OASC workbook file but get a message that it can't find Adobe Reader, or I get a blank white screen, even though I have Adobe Reader installed and can read PDF files with it.

There are two possible issues here:

Either you have an old version of Adobe Reader or the version you have is damaged and is not properly registered with Windows. This can still be the problem even if you can open a PDF file from within Adobe Reader. The easiest solution is to remove Adobe Reader from your computer using the Add or Remove Programs option under the Control Panel and then to download the latest version from
www.adobe.com. The Reader upgrade is free.

A second possibility is that at some point in the activation process or when opening the PREP4OASC workbook your firewall software detected the workbook trying to access the internet and asked you if you will allow this. If you said no you will get this problem. The best answer is to tell your firewall to always allow the workbook to access the internet. Note that it will identify the application as Secure-eBook.

I use a third party reader to read PDF files instead of Adobe Reader and I can't read the Guide using this other reader.

The ebook is only designed to work with Adobe Reader.

I downloaded the Guide and forgot where I put it on my computer, how can I find it?

Go to the Start menu on the bottom left and select Search.

Enter PREP4OASC WORKBOOK-V1.EXE ensuring you search all the files and folders. Selecting search will locate the file on your computer. After the search is completed the workbook should be shown in the results window.

You can move the workbook to another folder by opening the new folder and then dragging the PREP4OASC WORKBOOK-V1.EXE file out of the search window and into a new folder, so you can locate is easily in the future.
